Something that you might not have known about PA and New Jersey? We have a thriving local brewing scene. I didn’t know it until I started not counting calories again thats for sure. But one of the perks of trying to recover from my eating disorder is that I can finally drink beer without being horrified. Once I did figure that out though I found not only did these beers taste amazing but because they are local, I am still supporting small local business plus, many if them have events that are fun, unique and generally more fun then just hanging out.
It probably shouldn’t have been a huge surprise considering Yeungling is the largest craft brewery in the country based on volume of sales but somehow it was to me. I was never a huge beer person actually until recently when I started tasting different kinds. Local is most certainly something that we can do in this area. Its fun, you can go and see the brewery and for some of them even the farms.
It’s one of those adult summer activities thats interesting and a bit out of the normal. As we search for things closer to home, things where we can be outside but still get out of our comfort zone, these breweries as the perfect way to get out, support small businesses and still be social at a distance. Below I have listed easy to reach, delicious and fun craft breweries to check out if you are in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey area.
